Your transcript feature will be the best feature if It will be like lynda.com player.
1) Boundaries (with adjustable size) for subtitle text. Main idea is to keep player near to text subtitles for keeping eye on video and subtitles below video player in the same time.
2) Current subtitle auto-focus within subtitles boundaries, after rewind in player time bar. Also a “Resume Auto-Scroll” button.
3) Subtitles as links with background highlighting when mouse hover and when subtitle is current.
In some all lynda.com transcript features.

Thanks for your ideas. I’m sorry but I’m not sure if I understand all of them.
1) Do you mean the subtitle bar, that will open after turning on the CC button? Our player opens the subtitles inside a video with black background and it looks sufficient to me. But if you are interested in this kind of custom feature, let us know!
2) & 3) These functions are already available, I think. If you look at our demo, you can see that both auto-focusing and highlighting the background while hovering over a line in the transcript are native functions of this feature.

But I do not see any info about Interactive Transcript, Autoscroll, and Search within imported VTT subtitles on WordPress.org.
Only this:

Only now I noticed that Interactive Transcript available only with VIMEO. (out of the box). Why only with VIMEO and not with self hosted MP4 videos ? “Stop selling YouTube (VIMEO) and start selling yourself”.

This feature is available for our Pro users only. All your other questions should be answered in this guide – Interactive Video Transcript. As you can see, the feature allows you to add VTT files both as a subtitles and as a transcript in a single video. And even better, if you have your videos hosted on Vimeo, this will be done automatically.

Info about self-hosted videos on demo page is missing.But confirmed (guide – Interactive Video Transcript) that the feature is working with self-hosted mp4 videos. I will buy the wordpress plugin as soon as possible. Thank you!
