Hi Zachary,
Thanks for your note.
You should have received an email from us with all the update information. As you didn’t (please check your Paypal email account), you should sign in to your account here (as you are now) and go to https://foliovision.com/site/wp-admin/admin.php?page=fv-licensing to see your products and what upgrades are available to you.
FV Player has annual membership for continued updates and support. Your license is perpetual though as FV Player’s versions during your membership will continue to work forever.
We are constantly adding new features and improving existing ones (CDN, secure playback, playlists to name a few). You will always enjoy the latest video technology with FV Player.
Making the web work for you, Alec
Hello Katalina,
please upgrade to the latest version – 0.5.2. If you do not see the upgrade, you can try turning the plugin off and back on or you can grab if from https://foliovision.com/edit -> My Products -> Extensions -> FV Player Pro. The older versions had a bug in the update code which caused the updates to be often delayed.
Also, make sure that you are on latest version of FV WordPress Flowplayer. Our goal is to make this easy for our users, but obviously we have missed some of the edge cases.
Thanks,
MartinOn my other site I have Version 0.5.1 .
Last time we emailed I was told to
delete the old versions?I need clear and exact instructions that will work.
This has been too much work.
Although everyone has been really nice to deal with!Do I need to keep the original FV Player Pro?
Version ?What about the FV WordPress Flowplayer versions?
Thanks Katalina
Hello Katalina,
you need to make sure you have FV WordPress Flowplayer 6.0.3.4 (or any bigger number as the new updates come up): http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/
FV Player Pro should be at version 0.5.2. Version 0.3.8 is too old now. If you are still at version 0.5.1, then there might be some issue with the autoupdates and I would recommend you download the plugin ZIP file from https://foliovision.com/edit -> My Products -> Extensions -> FV Player Pro – and the install from that.
Once that version is installed, further updates should work fine.
Thanks,
MartinI’ve had my site advertised for a while now and am realizing that I have a big problem.
75% bounce rate.
The intro video (and all the other 600+ videos) are taking 5 seconds to load. Most of the videos are in pop ups but sometimes imbeded. When I look at the videos on the vimeo site they open and play immediately. But on my site 5 seconds usually.
I’m on WP, S2member and Divi Elegant theme.
StringsAlong.com and JazzAkio.com are my sites. Can you suggest the best way to export from Premier Pro to load on Vimeo?
Any settings that you have found to optimize playback? What would be your best advise working with videos?
Thanks, Katalina
Hi Katalina,
I don’t think the bounce rate is just due to the load speed of the videos. They do all load within a few seconds on OS 10.6.8 on Chromium 45, Firefox 40 and Safari 5.05
That said we definitely do want as close to instant start as possible.
If you are uploading to Vimeo, Vimeo should encode your videos properly. There is an issue that the first time you play a Vimeo video it may start a fraction of a second later. Martin and I will take a look.
Could you please put up a test page with the exact same videos in our FV Player and the same videos in Vimeo’s own wrapper so we can compare apples to apples. Please send us the link when you have the test page ready. Please send us a WordPress admin login to the same site at our support address.
Thanks!
