Set special splash for playlists

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › How to … › Set special splash for playlists

Hi – this is actually 2 questions. Original I had hope to have the default splash image show up at the end of videos (I have them on stopping at end of 1 video) but I see I can only have the first video’s splash screen for that. That;s cool if I can’t do what I’m asking (the splash I’d like only shows up at the end of the playlist.

But that leads to my second question – tech issue. Out of the blue the splash images for each of my playlists shows up zoomed.

https://dcdouglas.com/actor-film-television-videos-demo-reel/tv-shows/ (there are may playlists you can switch to with same issue). Help?

    Hello D.C.,

I see that you are using “Disable Playlist Autoadvance” and that it does not show the proper splash screen at the end. We can fix that for FV Player 8 which we are close to releasing.

I did not run into the image cropping issue though. I tried on regular and mini iPads and also on desktop with 1280 and 1920 pixels wide screen.

    I was testing on https://dcdouglas.com/voice-over-male-talent-los-angeles/cartoon-anime/

    Thanks,
    Martin

It appears to be Smush lazy load. I tried excluding these but to no avail…

    fvp-playlist-thumb-img
    .fvp-playlist-thumb-img
    #fvp-playlist-thumb-img
    fp-splash
    .fp-splash
    #fp-splash
    .flowplayer
    .fv-player
    fv-playlist-slider-wrapper

    Hello D.C.,

I see that since in FV Player playlist the images have no class you cannot use any class name to exclude them from Smush lazy load.

Are you still running into issues with Smush?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Yes. If you go to any video and fast forward to the end you will see how the splash image returns like it’s supposed to but zoomed in (25ish% on desktop, 70ish% on mobile)

ps- it appears that Smush lazy load interferes with the splash resizing when the splash is brought back after a video ends.

    Hello D.C.,

I found that while FV Player puts in the CSS rule background-size: contain; in the element style attribute it seems to be removed by Smush.

However there is no reason for that rule to be in the style attribute and I moved it to CSS.

Please reinstall FV Player from this link, resave the plugin settings and it should be fine: https://foliovision.com/downloads/fv-wordpress-flowplayer.zip

As I said in FV Player 8 we should probably rework this feature so that it uses a standard image tag and works with splash image of each individual playlist item.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Thanks for that but didn’t work. And the weird thing is that this time I deactivated all plugins (and cloudflare) and the issue persisted. (last time I did that the images returned to normal at end of videos) Made sure I had nothing in functions file or css that would be affecting it, as well. I have no clue what it is now. The updated plugin was also installed. So, the issue is still there…

    Hello D.C.,

I see the issue, please reinstall FV Player from this link and re-save the plugin settings one more time and it should be fine: https://foliovision.com/downloads/fv-wordpress-flowplayer.zip

I’m not sure why we never run into this compatibility issue before though.

    Thanks,
    Martin
