Play just a small part of the audio file

    The URL https://jhhootenanny.org/audio/Hoot-61-1994-04-25.mp3?start=240&end=250
in Chrome plays just seconds 240 to 250 in a large file as desired.

If I use this URL in FV

    [fvplayer src="https://jhhootenanny.org/audio/Hoot-61-1994-04-25.mp3?start=240&end=250"caption="Hoot test" ]

    it plays the whole video.

Is there some way to make this work in FV.

What I am trying to accomplish is to concatenate the URL in an Access database to play one song in a large library. I can simply play the URL in YouTube but would prefer to have it embedded in my page.

    Martin,
Let me be a little bit clearer:

    The URL https://www.youtube.com/embed/86TZ_vJByzk?start=1200&end=1230
in Chrome plays just seconds 1200 to 1230 in a large file as desired and
https://www.youtube.com/embed/86TZ_vJByzk?t=1200 starts properly at 1200 seconds.

If I use this URL in FV

    [fvplayer src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/86TZ_vJByzk?start=1200&end=1230"caption="Hoot test" ]

it plays the whole video from start to finish. The relevant website is now at jhhootenanny.org/videos/ where this is tested.

One problem is that the WordPress code editor and block editor convert “&” to “&” even though the & is within parentheses. That is a mistake. But even just defining the start
    https://www.youtube.com/embed/86TZ_vJByzk?start=1200 or
https://www.youtube.com/embed/86TZ_vJByzk?t=1200 does not adjust the start time.

Is there some way to make this work in FV?

What I am trying to accomplish is to concatenate the URL in an Access database to play one specific song in a large library of nearly 1000 hours of 3-hour concerts. I can simply play the URL in YouTube but would prefer to have it embedded in my page.

Everything above is mp4 video files. I did a lot of experimenting with FV playing mp3 audios and the times did not work there either.

    Hello Fobraynes,

You can easily set up custom start/end time in FV Player Pro. Here’s how to: https://foliovision.com/player/features/playback/custom-start-end-time

Hope it helps. Let me know, if you have further questions.

Making the web work for you,
    Maria
