    Dear all,
I’d like to use the FV Player Pro for our online teaching platform, where we use mp4 videos on our university server. I’m trying to get a splash image automatically shown for each video (the first frame of the video). I activated “Add featured image automatically” from the FV Player global options, but this doesn’t work. I found some hints concerning DIVI, which we use, but it is also not working with the Text mode of the post/module or with a blank post without using DIVI. Any hint what I should do?
    Thanks and best regards
    Reinhard

    Hi Reinhard.

There is an option in the settings that allows you to set a default splash image for all your videos, unless you change it manually. You can find it in FV Player Pro > Settings > Setup tab > Sitewide FV Player Defaults, under the name Splash Image. Just enter the image location, click Upload Image, then Save All Changes. You might find our Start-up Guide helpful, too: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/start-up-guide

    Thanks for your post.

    Dear Sylvain,
many thanks for the hint. Isn’t there a possibility that the splash image is generated for each video automatically (as the default WordPress player is doing it)? This would be very useful for us since the first frame shows the title of the lecture of the video. To have always the same image wouldn’t be a good solution in our case.
    Thanks and best regards

    Hello Reinhard,

it is possible to show the first video frame, but that means the video has to start loading even before you interact with the player. Some videos also start with a fade in, so it’s not a perfect solution.

We are working on a feature which will let you pick any video frame and use that as a splash screen.

These featured image options are different – it’s about setting the featured image to the same as the video splash image.

    Thanks,
    Martin
