    Within the past 2 weeks we started getting customers tell us the error:

    “Error loading trascript. Please try again in a minute. No transcript found”

    Is showing up instead of the interactive transcript below the video player.

    Testing it myself, I am having this same issue on both of our websites that have FV Player Pro installed. Both plugins are up to date.

    We host on videos on Vimeo, and all the caption files are loaded there.

    This feature is something that has worked just fine for years – now it seems to not be working.

    Any help getting this rectified would be much appreciated as it is one of our favorite features.

    Side Note: The error message itself has a spelling error trascript -> transcript

    Please note that I removed the shortcode from the web page I posted, so it will not work as a demo to show the error any longer. We are driving traffic to that page and I don’t want the error to show.

    Hello Michael,

    please install Log HTTP Requests plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/log-http-requests/

    Then put that shortcode with transcript=”auto” to some page and load it. See if the transcripts appears or not.

    Then check the logs of that Log HTTP Request plugin in wp-admin to see if you can see the request for the VTT file on Vimeo servers and see what it says there.

    OK,

    1. I installed the Log HTTP Requests
    2. I went to a webpage with the FVplayer shortcord set to transcript=”auto”
    3. The transcript is not showing up
    4. The log does show tons of these:

    I’m not sure why, but it’s loading an old VTT URL.

    Please also test your video again:

    Does it work for you now? If not, what URL do you see for https://vimeo.com/texttrack/8272605.vtt?token=… in wp-admin -> Tools -> Log HTTP Requests? Is it the same as last time, or did the token change?

    I’m trying to determine if the transcript fails to load from proper URL for you or if your server is not allowed to connect to vimeo.com.

    Hello Michael,

    thank you for the video! I’m noticing two issues on https://www.programmingelectronics.com/fv-player/

    1) The first video is loading from YouTube – the transcript=”auto” doesn’t work with YouTube unfortunately. Is that what you used or did you use an actual VTT file?

    2) The Vimeo video is using the Vimeo iframe embed code only – please ensure you setup Vimeo API key in wp-admin -> Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Hosting -> Vimeo. The guide can be found here: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/how-to-use-vimeo#access-token-setup It seems you had that set up before, perhaps you tried to disable that or you checked “Force iframe Embedding” for troubleshooting.

    Thank you so much Martin! Both sites are working like a charm now!

    OK – interesting side note…

    On one of the sites, where the transcripts had been working, but then stopped , there was an additional setting on the video pro section that said “disable automatics captions” when I unclicked it, the option disappeared – and whalla, the interactive captions started playing again.

    Maybe I didn’t clear cache after an update or something.

    Anyway – thanks so much for your excellent support!
