Vimeo Videos fail: “Error loading video. Unknown error”

Hi Guys,

I got myself entangled into this weird problem: Vimeo videos are no longer working on one of my websites and I’m receiving this error: “Error loading video. Unknown error”

Second, I noticed a continuous increase in the amount of cached Vimeo videos in the settings section of the plugin. In real, less than 400 videos are cached but plugin is saying: ‘Currently 668 Vimeo videos are cached.’ and that figure of 668 is rising as I’m writing.

I’ve checked the site for suspicious activity but I can’t find any sign. I’ve re-uploaded the FV plugins and also disabled other plugins. But still vimeo videos aren’t working…

I’ve tried to embed YouTube videos and they’re working fine.

I’ve turned on the ‘Debug’ feature of FV Pro player but it is also not showing anything.

Please have a look at the site and help me out.

Do you have any pages which show a lot of Vimeo videos at once?

Hello Rehan,

we found that this may have occured if you had too much traffic from mobile devices. We have a beta version of the fix available which makes sure mobile devices only preload the Vimeo videos which are needed.

Thanks Guys for the update,

It’s true that most of the traffic of that site is coming from mobile devices BUT I had no idea that error can be caused by it.

Also, there may be only couple of pages where more than one Vimeo video are embedded using FV player.

So, does the current version pre-loads the Vimeo videos automatically?

Hello Rehan,

please upgrade to FV Player Pro 0.2.2 which we released just now. It improved the preloading of Vimeo videos for mobile.
