Following settings: http://prntscr.com/5bgo14 result into following url: http://prntscr.com/5bgp8r
I don’t want top level categories to be shown. Permalink settings are set to %category%/%postname%.
What’s the matter? How can I fix it?

    Anybody here?

    Hello dayan,

I see the issue, however that’s how WordPress works. We didn’t wanted to bend the WordPress rules so much as what you are asking for.

For example if you have category “Mercedes” which is a subcategory of “Cars”, then the category has URL like /cars/mercedes. The category URL is determined by both the category slug and its parent category slug.

Our plugin is able to adjust this in case that you assign only the “Mercedes” category to the post, but you want it to show with /cars rather than /cars/mercedes. Same applies if you have another level of categories below Mercedes category. Normally WordPress picks the category with the lowest ID and that’s it.

So in your case, I see that you get /news/online-poker/post-name. Our plugin allows you to get /news/post-name but not /online-poker/post-name.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi,
i have installed you plug-in on WP 4.2.2
I disabled it , but the URLs remain changed like this:

    my_domain.com/my_cateogry

    i wat to bring back

    my_domain.com/category/my_category1
    my_domain.com/category/my_category2
    my_domain.com/category/my_category3

    How?Please help

    Martin 10 years ago

    Hello George,

the filter which takes care of that is located in the plugin, so when your turn off the plugin, it can’t affect your website. Are you sure you cleared your WordPress cache?

You can try visiting Settings -> Permalinks and just re-saving it as well.

    Thanks,
    Martin
