Fix for category_link()

Foliovision › Forums › FV Top Level Categories › Bug reports › Fix for category_link()

  • scribu 12 years, 10 months ago

The original Top Level Categories plugin had some code that removed the category base from category_link() so that it doesn’t show up anywhere.

Here is that code, which works pretty well with the current version of the plugin:

Thanks scribu, seems to be working nicely – you’re a legend.
Hopefully that will get incorporated into an update.

    Hello svsdnb,

you should be able to use FV Top Level categories as it is, without any modifications.

Why are you trying the above modification if the code has been already included in our plugin?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Because the plugin didn’t work when I activated it so I tried this fix. Is this compatible with the newest version of WP?

    Martin 13 years ago

    Hello svsdnb,

yes, our plugin works with WordPress 3.4.2.

If you are having any strange issues with category or post URLs not opening, just visit Settings –> Permalinks to refresh the rewrite rules and the issues should disappear.

Or there could be some plugin conflict too, but we only registered that kind of issues, when we were putting up some more custom rewrite rules to test something out.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Not working with WP 3.5. Right?

    Martin 12 years ago

    Hello M.,

it works for us both in Wordpres 3.5 and 3.6. Please let us know what plugins are you using, so we can look for any conflict.

Please also try to visit Settings -> Permalinks and check for your issues again. That will flush the rewrite rules.

    Thanks,
    Martin

You right, my fault. It’s about a collision with wp-types.
