    Slight bug …

I’m noticing on my categories that have a second page (clicking “older posts” at the bottom) … that it has a 404 error, “Page Not Found.”

    For example …

    1st Page: http://thetravelbite.com/travel_and_food_blog/

    2nd Page: http://thetravelbite.com/travel_and_food_blog/page/2/

Is there a way to fix this? I love the plugin, so I hope I don’t have to deactivate it. =(

    Hello Rachelle,

can you at least let us know what WordPress version and permalink structure are you using?

You can give our beta version a try here: http://foliovision.com/downloads/fv-top-level-cats-1.1.4beta.zip

Let us know if it helps. We are planing to do a major rewrite to not have issues like this anymore.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Sure Martin! Thanks for the quick reply.

    I’m using WP 3.2

    Permalink structure is …

    /%category%/%postname%/

    Hey Martin,

    Thanks for the plugin support.

I currently have a problem where I’m using a category archive using the “/%category%/%postname%/” structure, so it shows up as “/weblog/work” just fine for displaying this index. When I try to use the second page (/weblog/work/page/2″ it gives a 404 error, and instead, the page of “/weblog/category/work/page/2″ is the active link.

It sounds like this particular plugin is more so for posts, but would work for archives/category archives as well?

    Hello Rachelle and Randall,

you both have the same issue. Could you please try the beta version in my previous message?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Hah, sorry, didn’t see the response to Rachelle. Uploaded and made sure the 1.1.4beta was activated, and it’s working. =)

    So now /weblog/category/work/page/2 isn’t needed, it’s just /weblog/work/page/2

    Much thanks!

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for the update. I was having the same problem with pagination.
    Anyway, version 1.1.4 works perfect!

    Thanks a lot

    Hello Rachelle, Randall and Ricardo!

    Here’s the new beta version:
    http://foliovision.com/downloads/fv-top-level-cats-dev.zip

    It will fix your issues.

We preserved all the standard category URLs but (same as the older versions), if there’s a page with same URL as category, we show this page instead of the category.

Please let us know if it works for you. We are putting it on some of our sites too, once we have tested it for a while and once we hear back from you, we can put it on WordPress.org.

    Thanks,
    Martin
