Support for VAST 4.x Macros

[Solved]

    Hi,

    I wonder if you have plans to add support for VAST 4.x macros (https://interactiveadvertisingbureau.github.io/vast/vast4macros/vast4-macros-latest.html#macro-spec-asseturi) to the player?

    This list is quite extensive, so how about just adding the IAB equivalents of your own URL Tags (https://foliovision.com/player/vast/url-tags), e.g.:
    [random_number] -> [CACHEBUSTING]
    [permalink] -> [PAGEURL]
    [media_file_url] -> [ASSETURI]

    IAB macro support is quite important when deploying VAST wrappers, as usually there is no way to control macro naming in code delivered by VASTAdTagURI.

    Thanks!

    Egbert

    Hi Juraj,

    as an increasing number of agencies seem to start using these “official” macros there literally is no way to avoid serious issues when deploying VAST wrappers, so thank you so much for looking into this!

    Best regards,

    Egbert

    Hello Egbert,

    we have added support for [ASSETURI], [PAGEURL], [CACHEBUSTING], [TIMESTAMP] and [DEVICEUA].

    Could you please reinstall FV Player VAST from a new ZIP file from https://foliovision.com/my-licenses -> FV Player VAST -> hit download in the table row for your domain.

    To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.

    Then you should see these macros working.

    Thanks,
    Martin
