Hi Martin, thank you for your response! Since I have been working on other parts of the site, I haven’t been able to try it before now. Anyway, I tried your steps under “I want to use FCKEditor styling XML configuration file to have more control over styling dropdown”.
First, I enabled the ‘Style’ button on the custom toolbar, which worked fine. I got a long awful list of styles in the new combo, as expected… :) Anyway, I edited the XML file (fckeditor/fckstyles.xml) down to almost nothing, and the same long list still appears in the ‘styles’ dropdown?
Did you mean to say I had to download and install the newest version of the plugin first? Or did you perhaps make some other config or source code changes you forgot to mention in the FAQ? My current plugin version is only about a month old.

it should work fine with the latest version which is 0.9.16. Have you cleared your browser cache after the update of XML? I guess that’s what I forgot to add into FAQ.

Thanks! It worked after cleaning the cache. After working for about a month with WordPress, I had gotten so accustomed to everything working without cleaning the cache, I had completely forgotten about it…

that’s because it’s JavaScript. Firefox seems to cache JavaScript a lot, so when you do changes to some files, it needs to be cleared.
