The mystery deepens. I inserted the shortcode as suggested but with no success. So presumably the problem lies with the installation. I shall try reinstalling at some stage but meanwhile I thank you for your prompt response to my enquiry.

Many thanks for looking into the problem with Flowplayer.
I tried deactivating all plugins (except Flowplayer) but the icon still did not appear. Very frustrating and not sure what to try next.

I am using WordPress 3.2.1 with the Atahualpa theme 3.6.7 and am using the default WordPress editor.
Flowplayer is listed in Plugins and is activated. But not listed in widgets. It also is listed under settings. Despite this the icon does not appear above the editor panel.
I have tried deactivating then activating again no luck.
On my theme forum a search produced this comment ……..
There seems to be a problem with flowplayer – try deactivating it. It’s creating a
HTML Code:
<script src=”http://bodytalkhealing.org/downloads/flowplayer-3.0.6.min.js”>With no closing ‘</script>’ so everything after it is treated as part of the script and is not displayed. It shows up just before the </head> so that is why nothing shows.
