Something that I had overlooked was setting up my distribution for serving protected content, you cover this in great detail here (https://foliovision.com/player/serving-private-cloudfront)
After readin all of this, it dawned on me that if i use only RTMP then I lose a lot of my audience because its not mobile friendly, and if i supply an mp4 link then users have the link straight to my currently unprotected content..
I see that to use them both and keep content protection, I can upgrade the FV player plugin and use “Amazon CloudFront protected content”, but that seems no different to the current expiring urls feature..
On that note, the links seem to take a long time to expire, even after analysing the videos using the plugin e.g: a 1 min 30 sec video takes 30 mins plus to expire.. I had thought it determined the time required to buffer the video and set the expiration time for that amount of time? Is that correct?
