Yes, the background of the video playing area is white, but I had done nothing to alter that, I just added the plug without any modification. So, as far as it appeared to me, the default setting the installation came with was to hide the buffering button, as a practical, if unintended effect.
Anyway, I went into the configuration of the player and found the “canvass” setting which controls the background color and changed it to a dark color and now everything is just perfect! I write all this because I know there a lot of other people with this very basic problem (a Google search revealed others in my company). But you are the first to actually answer the question, so I hope they find this post when they search for an answer.

So let me rephrase it.
IF I buy your commercial version, your Pro Version, does it come with a little buffering indicator?
Or perhaps I can HIRE someone at your company to code a little spinning arrow that displays while the video is buffering?
