    Hello Meir,

Thank you for letting us know about the interesting issue.

Please let us know what children security filter did you use. It seems that it would just block all the Vimeo videos.

    Thanks,
    Martin

it is a israel service by server
now the problem is that it seems to work better with hls streaming like this:

    [fvplayer src="https://player.vimeo.com/external/1052727248.m3u8?s=f5574914c5cee24b574e2be4c29952ddd2275b52&logging=false"]

    instead of this:

    [fvplayer src="https://vimeo.com/1052727248" splash="https://i.vimeocdn.com/video/1977766466-8c374b7d5f20aa2e8fb374a418a8faa2ae351ad6817d96ee0987dab38b06d145-d_1920"]

can you tell me if there are any pros or cons in using each streaming format?

    meir kalmis 12 months ago

the m3u8 seems to work more consistenly

    Hello Meir,

That https://player.vimeo.com/external… link is the Vimeo Direct link to video file.

The downside is that anybody can just copy that URL and use it on his website or download the video. The URL is signed, but it never expires.

FV Player Pro uses Vimeo file links which expire for video playback.

    Thanks,
    Martin

so how to whatch out with caches not to be blocked when it expires?

    Martin 12 months ago

    Hello Meir,

What I mean is that FV Player Pro plays the Vimeo videos in a way which makes them harder to download and share. We also have an extension which really makes them harder to download with the video downloading tools: https://foliovision.com/store/fv-player-vimeo-security

The problem is that your children security filter seems to block these URLs.

I’m not sure why it won’t block the standard Vimeo video file links, but these make the videos very easy to download and even link on other websites.

    Thanks,
    Martin
