Set Default Quality Setting

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › Set Default Quality Setting

  • United L. 7 years, 9 months ago

    Hello,

I have setup all my videos with Quality Switching, which works fine, but I have set the -720.mp4 version as default, however the videos are always loading the -1080.mp4 version first.

Any idea how I can solve this?

This is what my shortcode looks like:
    [fvplayer width="960" height="540" src="https://mydomain/myvideos/myvideo-720.mp4" qsel="true"]

    Thank you very much!
    BR,
    Marin

    Hello Marin,

please try to test without cookies (use Private or Incognito mode of your browser). The quality setting which you pick is remembered in a cookie – that should explain the behavior which you are seeing.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Martin,
I am watching this problem now for a couple of weeks and unfortunately I have to say it’s not about the cookies, because other people which enter the site for the first time see the video in HQ which is not what I set.
    How can i solve this?
    Thanks, Marin

I found out that when I change the sequence of the qualities from High Mid Low to Mid High Low -> it will start with the Mid Video, which is what I want, however it would be very nice that the sequence is High Mid Low and it starts with Mid. Is this possible?

    Hello Marin,

You have a point, I tested this and the first video quality a new user gets is the one in the first row. We’ll discuss this internally and let you know what could be done about it.

    Thanks,
    Eduard
