I’ve got the html5.js not found in your template error, even though it is there

  • pts1mike 9 years, 8 months ago

    Hi,
The Flowplayer settings page displays the “html5.js not found in your template…” error, even though it is there. I also put the code it mentions in the header.php, as instructed.

Also displaying is the “It appears there are no Flowplayer scripts on your site” error, even though the code snippets it mentions are exactly where they say they should be.

I’ve looked at the list of known plugin conflicts, and I have none of those plugins.

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi Mike,

I’m sorry to hear you are having difficulties with our video player. Could you please post us a sample page where these issues appear?

    Thanks!

    Alec

    Hi, Thanks for replying.
The videos play fine. The only place I see those errors is on the FlowPlayer settings page.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Could you send us a WordPress admin to your site at our support mail so we could try to troubleshoot this issue for you?

    Thanks!

Hi again, Alec. I’ll have to ask my client for permission; they’re a law enforcement software company, and it’s private site. I’ll get back to you on that.

I am not a .php writer, so please bear with me. I don’t understand a couple of things about the code that the foliovision site told me to put in the header.php file.

    <!–[if lt IE 9]>

    <script src=”<?php echo get_template_directory_uri(); ?>//cdn.foliovision.com/html5.js”></script>

    <![endif]–>

    I don’t understand:
    (1) <!–[if lt IE 9]> and <![endif]–>
Why are they commented out? Also, why aren’t they formatted like the other if .php statements I’ve seen?

    (2) This part confuses me:

    ?>//cdn.foliovision.com/html5.js”>

I think it confuses Dreamweaver as well. I work in code mode, and I see that Dreamweaver interprets that bit as a part of the comment.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Our code only runs on WordPress. By trying to edit a WordPress site in Dreamweaver you are pushing the edges a long way.

To be able to troubleshoot effectively, we need access to admin. If the data on this site is sensitive, you could set up a dev site without the sensitive data and replicate the issue there.

I’m sorry it seems like a lot of work. Modern web development is not like in the good old days (like you, I’ve been doing this for awhile, including a sting on GoLive before WordPress even existed).

Making the web work for you, Alec

Oh GoLive, that was my first editor. I rally enjoyed it. They had a great menu plugin called Menu Machine.
I tried putting that code in my header.php using the WP editor, but it never took. I put it in there, saved, I refresh the page, and the code isn’t in there, so I downloaded the file, inserted the code and put it back up.
I’ll try again – maybe there were server glitches happening that day. Then I’ll contact my client about letting you in. Thanks very much for your help!

Hi Alec, I’ve gotten approval from the client. What should i list as your email for your account?

    Martin 10 years ago

    Hello Mike,

at this point it’s not clear why is it failing for you, but it could be because of the editor you are using.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Mike,

I figured out that the account has been already setup.

I had a look at the website – the problem is that our plugin checks your website as not logged in user and you require a login to be able to access the site.

What we can do it our plugin is detect that it has been redirected to a login form and say that the site appears to be password protected and we can’t check it automatically.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
    Thanks for looking into this.
Actually, the site is entirely private to everyone except members. Non-logged in visitors can’t get past the login page.

These errors only display on the admin settings page. The videos themselves work fine. There are no issues as far as anyone but admin knows.

I appreciate Foliovision looking into this. I will be out of town today and tomorrow, so you can stop looking at it now. I can live with the error being on the settings page.

    Hi Martin,
I didn’t understand what you meant, but I do now. Yes, I do think it would be good to add that to the plugin.
Alec & Martin: Thanks again for your help!
    Mike
