Hi, we are thinking about migrating our Website form JW Player 6 to FV Player. Is there an easy way to change something like [jwplayer player=”3″ mediaid=”538527″] to a FV player shortcode?
Thanks a lot,
Florian

Hello Florian,
Our player has a built-in conversion button for JW Player shortcodes that can be found in Settings > FV Player > Setup tab > Conversion. It was actually built for converting JW Player videos in another format, however, we decided to add support for the [jwplayer player=”3″ mediaid=”538527″] format you have requested.
The function will be available in the next update, but you can start using it right now by downloading the latest version of FV Player from here – https://wordpress.org/plugins/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/, then uninstalling the current FV Player version from your WP admin and manually installing from the zip file you have downloaded.
Thanks,
Eduard
Wow. What a fast and fantastic support. I’m shocked!
That is much better and convenient than my solution (i’ve tried to code a bit with wp_get_attachment_url).
A little issue remains for me. After the conversion the shortcode looks like splash=”http://www.xxxxxxxxxxx/wp-content/uploads/538511″, which is the correct mediaid for the picture, but not the correct url.
Would be great, if you could change that.
Thanks a lot. Florian
Hello Florian,
hopefully the JW Player shortcodes reference images which still exist in your database and it’s just bug on our end.
Could you please check if opening URL like https://xxxxx.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=538511&action=edit opens a “Edit Media” screen for the correct image file and that the image is displayed?
Could you please reinstall FV Player from this ZIP file and see if it fixes the issue? https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/jw-player-import-fix.zip
To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with out plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. You can also just replace the files via FTP.
Thanks,
Martin
