Hi Katalina,
I’m sorry to hear you are still having issues with the update.
Are your WordPress updates working generally? Please check.
Another quick alternative would be to delete (back up please) the existing pro extension files and reinstall them from the link in the free plugin.
Making the web work for you, Alec
Yes, all the other plugins update normally.
I have FV Player Pro version 0.3.3 and FV WP Flowplayer 2.3.16 installed. Correct?
Are you saying that the paid version should be showing up in WP for update on my dashboard?
When I search add plugins the FV Player Pro does not some up, it only shows FV WP Flowplayer and I’m up to date on that.
If I need to uninstall and reinstall could you guide me through this process. I already have a LOT of videos on my site using FV and don’t want to loss days of work.
1)where do I get the update?
2) Exactly, step by step do I backup my files and reinstall it.
I am really on a time crunch to release and am waiting for the player to work right.
Thank you, Katalina
Hi Katalina,
FV Player Pro does not have separate preferences, it just adds additional functionality and options to FV WordPress Flowplayer Settings.
0.3.6 is the latest version FV Player Pro. You can do a manual upgrade if you download the software from https://foliovision.com/site/wp-admin/admin.php?page=fv-licensing
Look for the download for FV Player Pro next to Extensions.
Thanks.
Alec
OK I uploaded the new version and tried Safari.
Unfortunately, still does the same thing when playing videos.
On a page that has more than 1 video, if I play one and then click the video to pause it pulls up the next video ex. 1of5, then 2of5, 3of5 and never plays any again.Let me know please, Katalina
Sorry, thought that the site info was on top.
My site has 600+ videos and 100+pg, so I really need this to work right.
Nothing special about browser. Chrome works, but Safari is not.Thank you, Katalina
Thanks for the site link, Katalina. Could you send me to a specific page please where the videos are not playing correctly?\
I’d also like to trouble you for a list of the versions of Safari which are not working correctly (both browser version and OS please) so we can replicate your issue.
Thanks!

PS. We will troubleshoot this for you until we get it right. That said, the rush short term fix though is to suggest to your users that they use Chrome, Chromium or Firefox for the moment.
Hi Katalina,
I was able to replicate your issue on Safari 5.0.5 on 10.6.8 which means it’s a very serious issue (Yosemite Safari is very peculiar, my wife uses Yosemite and has ongoing problems with a lot of non-Foliovision websites).
Happily on Firefox 38.0.5 on 10.6.8, multiple videos play as you wish. We will definitely fix this Safari issue ASAP. Our lead developer Martin will have to lead the effort and unfortunately he’s on his summer vacation until 7 July.
In the meantime, I would suggest asking visitors to use Chrome, Chromium, IE and/or Firefox to view the videos.
Thank you very much for pointing out the bug with multiple video playback on Safari. We’ll fix it ASAP.
Have a nice weekend.
Making the web work for you, Alec
Hello Katalina,
FV Player Pro 0.3.6 fixed the lightbox closing bug, but not the issue with next video appearing when you click it in Safari. That is a different fix which is related to compatibility with your theme. Sorry if I was not clear about what was fixed and what not.
As suggested before, you can put this into your theme CSS and it should work:
#cboxNext { width: 0 )
Thanks,
MartinDear Martin,
I am getting really discouraged. I was told that FV would
work with me until these problems are fixed. They are not fixed.I am still getting an error message, see attached.
If the answer is the css work please explain what I should do.
I trusted and used FV on 600+ videos on my site and
they are not dependable!?!?!?!?!?Thanks, Katalina
Hello Katalina,
sorry about the delay, we are working hard on fixing the Flowplayer 6 issues. I haven’t noticed your message as you replied to the notification instead of posting to our forums.
You posted a screenshot there is says that the Vimeo video can’t be played because of “Bad request”. That happens occasionally when Vimeo doesn’t give us the video information. If it happens for every video and doesn’t go away in couple of minutes, please post a link to the video on Vimeo and we will have a look.
Some tutorial for CSS editing can be seen here between 3:38 and 7:38: https://youtu.be/jkD-KSXQNeY?t=3m38s The good thing is that is includes instructions about how to back up the file. You just need to paste this at the end of the file:
#cboxNext { width: 0 )
Let us know if that doesn’t help and I can accelerate this fix tomorrow.
Thanks,
MartinHello Katalina,
FV Player Pro 0.3.7 was released, that means you don’t need to touch any CSS. If you don’t see the upgrade right away, please try to deactivate and activate the plugin.
It changed the #cboxNext class to #fv_player_pro_boxNext, so your theme should no longer affect our default styling of lightbox.
You will also see this notification which we put in for all of users using our plugin, so developers get the idea:
The video lightobx CSS prefix has changed from cbox to fv_player_pro_box. If you use custom styling for our lightbox, you need to fix your class names. Sorry about inconvenience, but this was needed to improve our compatibility with various themes. If you are having issues use our support forums.
Are you still having issues with Vimeo?
Thanks,
MartinHi, me again.
I got the new update off your site because it never showed up on WP.
1. Now the videos on my site don’t auto play even though they are set that way.
2. Below the video, instead of only being able to play or pause there is a next and previous choice. That is not something that I need.
3. Often I’m getting the same error message from above message and the videos aren’t playing. I NEVER had this problem ever before a few weeks ago. Are you saying that it’s Vimeos issue solely?
stringsalong.com the front page videos or you can opt in and see more videos.
All giving same problems.Thanks, Katalina
Also, the above problems are now on both Chrome and Safari!
On mobile (Safari) the video has to be clicked, then your lightbox pops up, but doesn’t play. If I click again and again eventually the video might open in the standard iphone player. Does your player work on iphone? Would it play in FV or iphone’s player?
Hello Katalina,
we are fixing the update issue. The update eventually shows up, but it’s too delayed.
1) & 2) I see, you are also using Lighthox Plus plugin which is causing some of these issues. I put in a fix into our plugin, please upgrade to FV Player Pro 0.3.7.1.
3) Vimeo loading issues – I found one issue with could cause this (HTTPS vs. HTTP loading of the site), I included a fix in FV Player Pro 0.3.7.1., please upgrade.
4) Lightbox on mobile – that is the correct behavior – the lightbox has to open first and then you need another click to play the video which opens in the internal player of iPhone.
Mobile devices need this extra click as they only allow video playback on direct user interaction and opening a lightbox window doesn’t count as that. I see that for the devices which play with internal player (iPhone) we could remove the lightbox as the video doesn’t play in it anyway, it uses the internal player. It works for iPad and Android though.
Thanks,
MartinHi Katalina,
Thanks for your detailed notes.
You can make your life easier by using just a single lightbox plugin. FV Player comes with a very solid responsive lightbox plugin called ColorBox which can handle your images as well (lightbox is a preference in general FV Player settings). Just disable your existing lightbox plugin and use the one built-in.
Martin will make the other changes shortly.
Making the web work for you,
Alec
Thanks, I disabled the other colorbox.
What does it mean on your settings page-
Will group images as well as videos into the same lightbox gallery. Turn off your lightbox plugin when using this.?
Do you mean turn off any other lightbox plugin?
Also, can I just delete the old versions of FV Player Pro from the plugin page?
Thanks, Katalina
Hello Katalina,
I can see your videos play in lightbox now. Are you still having Vimeo issues? It works for me so far.
If you enable Setting -> FV WordPress Flowplayer -> Pro Features -> “Use video lightbox for images as well” then you will get a same behavior like here: https://foliovision.com/player/how-to-use-lightbox
As you can see that page starts with a video which opens in a lightbox. Then if you click the “next” arrow in lightbox you get to the first image in that post – so you get a full gallery of all your post images and videos.
You don’t need any other lightbox plugin for this, so you should turn it off.
Yes, delete older FV Player Pro versions.
Thanks,
Martin
