Hi guys,
I’ve been hosting videos on AWS for over a year without a problem. The new screenshot feature to create a splash image is fantastic and it works great on my self-hosted videos. However, if I try to use the screenshot button to generate a splash image for AWS-hosted videos, I get the following error:
Cannot obtain video screenshot, please make sure the video is served with CORS headers. I have used the CORS xml file with my AWS video buckets for over a year without a problem. Is there anything else I should check?

Are you sure you that your xml file is fine compared to our guide?
Thanks for letting us know! I’m going to test it and I will get in touch with in the close future with more information. Meanwhile it would be nice if you could check if all your settings are correct compared to our guides.

Sorry for the delay in following up – I’ve checked all my settings as outlined in your guides. I’m don’t use Cloudfront but serve my videos directly from Amazon S3. I’ve the following xml in my S3 CORS configuration for the root bucket:

</CORSConfiguration>My S3 videos work fine, it’s just the generated screenshot image for S3-hosted videos that returns the error: “Cannot obtain video screenshot, please make sure the video is served with CORS headers.”
Video screenshots work fine with self-hosted videos and both self-hosted and S3 hosted videos play fine.
Would there be some special crossorigin setting for images that I have to implement for pulling screenshots from S3 videos?
As an update I get the exact same error message if I try and generate a screenshot from a video on a mirror site. For example, if I insert a video hosted on my test site, the video will play but if I try and generate a splash screenshot I get the “Cannot obtain video screenshot, please make sure the video is served with CORS headers.”
So, it happens for any video that isn’t hosted on the local domain, not just S3 videos.

2. Open your browser console (Here’s a link to guide explaining how to do it with various browsers)
3. Try generate new splash image via the generator
4. Copy the error message from console and send it to usThanks for using our player,
