VAST Ads Not Working At All

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player VAST › Troubleshooting › VAST Ads Not Working At All

  • Joe 5 years, 9 months ago

I just installed FV Player VAST and FV Player Pro on my adult website. I tried loading an Exoclick VAST tag, and it would not play. I tested the tag through the VAST tag tester, and it played fine. I also tried using a sample Google VAST tag in my VAST Player installation, but it would not play. I tried checking the web page through Google Chrome’s console, but it isn’t showing any Javascript errors. I turned on debug mode, but it isn’t showing anything. From the looks of it, it does not appear that the VAST Javascript is triggering at all.

Here is a sample web page:

    Hello Joe,

    Thanks for reaching to us!

Are you using any other ad-serving plugin? If yes, please try turning it off for a moment and recreate the issue. Let us know if anything changes.

    Thanks,
    Juraj

    Hi,

I’m also running a plugin called Adrotate Pro. I get the same results whenever I deactivate Adrotate Pro: still no VAST ads.

I’ve had to migrate servers on this particular website twice, within the last 2 years. When I run Query Monitor, I get the following PHP Errors:

    Hello Joe,

please check Settings -> FV Player-> Tools -> System Info. There should be some lines like this:

    FV Player VAST version: 7.4.15.727
FV Player VAST license: Valid (next check 2020-05-18 21:50:38 GMT)

Please let us know what you find. I think there must be some error in the license check. If you send that whole System Info to us it will be helpful too.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Joe,

I see you have a FV Player VAST license for two websites. The plugin is a bit different for each domain, so you have to install the right domain version of each website.

Please make sure you go to https://foliovision.com/my-licenses, scroll down to FV Player VAST and download the FV Player VAST button for the correct domain using the Download button next to it.

My guess is that perhaps you are using the version for the other domain.

As a next step, please enable Settings -> FV Player VAST -> Debug and then send us a link for a video where the VAST ad should play but it doesn’t.

    Thanks,
    Martin

I downloaded the VAST player specific to that site’s license, and it’s working now! Thanks again!

    Hello Joe,

I’m glad to hear that it works for you now. Please let us know if there is anything else.

    Thanks,
    Martin
