We’re looking for someone with existing good CSS skills and some PHP/JS skills who would like to improve their programming skills helping us build the front end interface for our video player.
We also work with some VIP clients to build advanced websites, especially video websites. We’re very concerned here about web standards, site performance. We like to build lean, fast-loading well-structured and well-documented code.
We despise shortcut hacks and a “just making it work” mentality. Such a short-term perspective results in enormous technical debt and makes software or a web application very likely to break in the next Android or iOS update. We strive to code it right in the first place, which means our code often runs well for four or five or even ten years with minimal maintenance.
Ideally, you’d have experience with WordPress but if you’ve worked more extensively on another CMS like Drupal, Typo3, Ghost, Joomla or Moveable Type you will be able to pick up the WordPress specific knowledge quite quickly.
If you have design skills in addition to your technical ability, those are welcome and you’ll have a chance to use them. Design skills are definitely not required though as there’s more than enough technical design work to keep you busy.
Working languages are Slovak and English in our company. You should have at least basic written English but that would be enough.
As we’re a small company, self-starters generally do better here. If you are self-motivated, you need not fear micromanagement here. We do big projects and you’ll have lots of scope to approach the work in the way you like. This position would suit well someone who would like to work flexible hours with half the hours worked in home office. If you are not in Bratislava but nearby, you’d only be expected to come to town two days per week for instance. We’re open to half time to full time, with a minimum commitment of seventy hours per month.
Our office is near Bratislava Castle. When you are in the office, you will enjoy good coffee and a gourmet lunch.

Salary
€15/hour + monthly bonuses based on productivity.
