Hi Martin,
I just received a strange Vimeo access token error in my WP admin dashboard at the top of the screen — see attached.
Have you ever seen this before? I’ll try creating a new token in Vimeo and see if that fixes it. Figured I’d send you the error just in case you know of any other things I need to do.
Thanks!
Devin

Hi Devin,
To troubleshoot the issue please go to:
Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Hosting -> Vimeo (Pro). There should be a message like “There were 101 API errors”, so click the (show) link next to it and let us know what you see.
Also enable Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Pro Features -> Debug -> Verbose.
It might be there is a dead Vimeo video somewhere in your database for which FV Player keeps trying to get the splash screen. Vimeo doesn’t like that behaviour and will ban your server IP from using their API – just like they did.
Deleting a “dead” empty videos from your database should fix this issue.
Thanks,
JurajHello Devin,
please check if the videos are still playing. This sort of error can stop parsing of video splash screens (when inserting the videos), but will not affect the playback.
Vimeo can indeed block you from their API if you request information about a missing video multiple times. Like if you tried to post a missing video 20 times in an hour, it could happen. But then the ban should be removed in a day or so.
However these screenshots which you sent don’t seem to indicate any recent error. Please try to set Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Pro Features -> Debug to “Verbose”. That way there will be more details logged into a log file. So I wonder if anything pops up there.
Thanks,
MartinThanks Martin and Juraj. Where can I find the errors that are logged in the Verbose debugging mode?
I did a search on my Posts and Pages to find the following videos that were in the API error list and nothing appeared…
https://vimeo.com/252270100 (can’t find in my shortcodes)
https://vimeo.com/343518099 (can’t find in my shortcodes)And this video error is interesting…
https://vimeo.com/335676300/8a73adc4c2 I don’t even know who owns this video and I’m wondering how it was being pulled in through my API and website somehow?Other than that, my videos do seem to be playing normally. I usually add my own custom splash screen through the FV shortcode. There might be a few that use the Vimeo splash screen.
Let me know if you think there’s anything else I should do at this point.
Thanks,
DevinHello Devin,
when you go to Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Pro Features -> Debug you will see there is a (more) link in the description of that setting. Clicking that will give you a full path for the verbose log file. You can get there via FTP or also figure out the HTTP URL if you copy the part starting with “/wp-content/…” until the end and use that as path with your domain URL.
Thanks,
MartinHi Devin,
Could you please pick up a pro support incident so that either Juraj or Martin can work through your Vimeo issue with you. These are issues specific to your site and not general to FV Player.
Thanks!
Hi Devin,

If there is a sense that extra work that needs to be done outside the normal scope of a ticket, this should be communicated to the customer on the front end so they can pay for pro support before the work is completed.
The bind for me is that I don’t want to tell the guys: don’t work on anything without permission from me or a pro support ticket. We keep the price of FV Player very low both for first buy and for renewals. What allows us to do that is that we charge for hands-on support. The rules are particularly customer friendly for valued long time FV Player publishers like yourself.
As this involved real development work on your website which is not directly related to FV Player itself, if you could pick up a pro support incident, I’d be very grateful.
Thanks so much!
