Player ignores caption formatting

[Solved]

    Until recently, our videos were limited to English subtitles but now we are adding more languages.
    The .vtt files have the correct formatting, but when the second language is playing, all fonts appear white. You can see on the video in the link below.
    https://workingsheepdog.co.uk/tv
    When the English (original) captions play, the colours and formatting are normal.
    Here’s an example of code:

    WEBVTT

    00:00:01.480 -> 00:00:02.799
    <font color="#fe7f31"><i>Visitante.</i></font>

    00:00:03.319 -> 00:00:04.440
    <font color="#fe7f31"><i>Vamos.</i></font>

    These lines appear white on the player.
    Can you help please?
    Andy

    My apologies! (It’s a pity we cannot edit our posts).
    I can see an error in the formatting of the snippet I provided (the arrow should have two dashes –> not one). I’ll correct it to see whether it makes any difference – but I doubt it, as the other videos are formatted correctly and the formatting is ignored on those.

    As I thought, even with the code corrected, all the captions appear with white font.

    00:00:03.319 --> 00:00:04.440
    <font color="#fe7f31"><i>Vamos.</i></font>

    00:00:05.360 --> 00:00:06.240
    <font color="#fe7f31"><i>Vamos.</i></font>

    Hello Gill,

    I went over to the website, and the Spanish subtitles use the correct color now.

    Have you by any chance been able to solve it in the meantime? If so, we’d be grateful if you shared what was the issue, for other users to find.

    Thanks,
    Maria

    Hello Maria,
    Thank you for your quick reply.
    I’m very glad to see the Spanish subtitles appear to have ‘healed-up’ – but I’m confused as to why it happened!
    I will continue to try to find out…
    I’m sorry to have wasted your time.
    Best wishes, Andy
