Google Analytics

[Solved]

    Hi
I am unable to see the Video/Seconds Played category for individual audio tacks (my site is audio only) when I go to the settings as illustrated in your guide. I use the instructions provided – “Click Primary Dimension > Event Category. You can switch to other videos by using All > Event Label at the top”.
Please see the image attached. I have probably done something incorrectly – but not sure what! Can you advise please?

Also, in your instructions at https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/google-analytics-fv-player it might be useful to the reader to give a brief illustration/explanation for each column i.e. Total Events, Unique Events, Event Value, Avg. Value and the figures underneath them.
    Regards
    Neil

    Hi Neil,

I’ve done testing on your problem and sadly I wasn’t able to reproduce it. So I went through the Internet forums and I found out that Google Analytics doesn’t offer this kind of tracking for audio files out of the box. It does offer some as you can see when you compare your screenshot with our documentation, but some of them are apparently missing.
The possible solution I found for you is at this link: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/events

Apparently you need to set up custom even measurement to track those informations. Also thanks for feedback on our documentation, we will have a look at that.
    Thanks,
    Juraj
