Fullscreen shows NAV through video with Chrome

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › Fullscreen shows NAV through video with Chrome

  • Michael B. 8 years, 8 months ago

Fullscreen videos appear semi-transparent when using Chrome browser. I have two menus on the page. They seem to be floating on top of the video, like their Z-index is all messed up. I cannot find any z-index to adjust, and the problem only appears in Chrome.

If you would like to use my page for testing, please provide a method for me to send the url(s) directly to you.

    Thanks!

    Hi Michael,

If the links to the pages where you are experiencing the video issues are not public, you can share them via https://revealit.me/. It creates an encrypted message that can be opened only once and then deletes itself, so you can safely post it here on the forum.

    Thanks,
    Eduard

Further investigation appears to reveal a conflict between Responsive Tabs and FV Player. The video shows fine on pages with no tabs:

But on pages with tabs (especially after clicking any tab) all of my menus show through the video:

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hello Michael,

at a glance I can see that for “.sf-menu li” there is “z-index: 999” in your theme CSS. That seems to be causing the header menu to be visible.

I’m not sure about the sidebar though.

Does the conflict appear even when you use a default WordPress theme, or is it just between Responsive Tabs and FV Player?

    Thanks,
    Martin

I am a bit embarrassed that I missed the “999”. I changed it to “100” for every instance, and everything looks fine now.

Guess I’ll have to get better at hunting down issues with parent themes.

I’d also like to figure out why Chrome was the only browser to display this problem. Perhaps all the other browsers have a max z-index that is well below 999.

In any case … thank you for pointing out the z-index that I had missed. This issue is resolved!
