Did The Full Screen Control for YouTube Videos Disappear?

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › Did The Full Screen Control for YouTube Videos Disappear?

  • Jason D. 11 years ago

Using FV Flowplayer 2.2.6, WP 3.9.1, OptimizePress 2.1.10.1

Just upgraded to the latest version of FV Flowplayer and noticed that I no longer have an option to go full screen for YouTube videos embedded with FV Flowplayer. I’m pretty sure there used to be a button in the lower right-hand corner to enlarge YouTube videos to full screen … but it isn’t there anymore…

    Has there been a change?

For the record, I do have “Enable Full-screen Mode:” checked on the FV Flowplayer Admin Screen…

Is there, perhaps, a shortcode variable I’m missing?

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

    Thanks for the report.

Could you check if you can go full screen with YouTube videos on other sites? What browser and OS are you using?

    Hello Jason,

please let us know about your browser and operating system. Some browsers might not permit going fullscreen from an iframe. Youtube uses iframe for the video embeds.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin, Alec,

I’m using a Windows 7 Home Premuin PC. Just tested on Chrome, IE, FF, and Safari and the issue only seems to occur on Chrome.

However, the problem is specific to FV Flowplayer.

If you go to http://www.pmperspective.com (using Chrome) you will see an example of an embedded YouTube video using the OptimizePress video embed element. You’ll see that the option to go full screen is there.

If you go to http://www.pmperspective.com/video-role-project-manager/ you will see the same video, embedded with FV Flowplayer, with no option to go full screen.

I’m fairly certain the option to go full screen was available on Chrome using FV Flowplayer in the past …

    Any thoughts?

    Hello Jason,

thank you for reporting the issue. We found a fix which we will include in next version (which is actually scheduled for today).

    Thanks,
    Martin
