AWS Updates regarding AWS Lambda

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › AWS Updates regarding AWS Lambda

  • Joe 3 years, 6 months ago

As you may know, Amazon Web Services is making changes in regards to their AWS Lambda stacks. This was what they sent us:

AWS Lambda is extending the capability to track the current state of a function through its lifecycle to all functions [1]. With this change, you may need to update your CLI and/or SDK-based automation workflows around creating and updating functions by adding a check that the function became active before performing additional actions that operate on the function.

My concern is whether or not videos will continue to play as expected on FV Player Pro of if there might be any issues? We’re using the players connected to a LearnDash LMS site, so these videos are our lessons and they’ve got to work.

    Hello Joe,

FV Player doesn’t work with the AWS Lambda function. It only plays the files hosted on AWS S3 using the AWS Cloudfront CDN.

We also support the encrypted videos created using AWS Elemental MediaConvert, but do not automate it’s functioning in any way.

Some of our users use the AWS Video on Demand implementation, but it doesn’t appear to use Lambda either: https://aws.amazon.com/solutions/implementations/video-on-demand-on-aws/

    Thanks,
    Martin
