I have installed FV Player Pro and am using the Avada theme. When I embed an audio file the player shows, and works, but the play/pause and Mute Toggle buttons do not display. The buttons are there, but they are not showing. There are no settings in the Player Skin settings that fix this.
It’s not a theme conflict, as the problem is still there when I switch to the Twenty Fifteen theme.

it appears that there is some plugin conflict or the skin CSS saving is not working.
1) Could you please try to re-save the plugin settings?
2) If the above doesn’t help, can you add this code into your theme functions.php file and see if it helps?

I have just installed the free version of your flowplayer plugin on another site and tested it. The same problem occurs. Perhaps you can have a look?

When I posted just the audio file, the audio player skin was different, and the buttons worked. Once I posted a video and an audio file on the same page, the audio player skin changed and the buttons disappeared.
The plugins on the site richalmers.com are completely different to those on Britlish.com.
RichardI think I know what the problem is now. The WordPress core media player loads last and overrides the Flowplayer player. Is there a way to turn off the WordPress player or load Flowplayer last?

the play button is not visible as your web server is serving the vector graphic with a wrong mime type.
You can put your SVG url http://richalmers.com/wp-content/plugins/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/css/controls.svg into http://web-sniffer.net/ to see that it’s served with “Content-Type” set to “text/xml”.
The correct mime type is “image/svg+xml”. You should be forwarding this request to your server technical support.
Also, the audio player was not responsive, but this will be fixed in the next release – hopefully today.

You were right! I would never have figured that out for myself.
I have added:
AddType image/svg+xml svg svgz
AddEncoding gzip svgz
to the server apache/conf/httpd.conf file and the problem has resolved.
