    Hi FV Supportteam,
    URGENT QUESTION!
We want to install a Player on a (Linux)Server with our video files hosted without WordPress installed to be able to play the video files that are requested with video URL. (Like Vimeo hosting).
Is there a version of FV Player for this? We have a the domain licence.
    Thanks for kind assistance.

Is there still no solution using the player without wordpress?!?

    Hi Andreas,

Thanks for your question. Yes, it’s possible to publish videos on a WordPress website and then embed them on another website.

You can do this with FV Player iframe embed.

Here’s where you enable it: Settings > FV Player > Setup tab > Sitewide FV Player Defaults

    Hi Martin,

Is it possible to use a wordpress to host all the videos and use embeds to post the videos in a non-wordpress application. I am moving away from wordpress, but want to still use the fv player. I noticed I can embed, but I want to make sure that the videos hosted on the wp site are not directly accessible.

    Hello Dax,

Is your new application using PHP? If yes, then you might not need iframes.

If not, then we need to check if the iframe embed URLs could be somehow preventing unauthorized access.

    Thanks,
    Martin

It is not using php, but I set it all up and got the iframes working. What I learned which was nice is that I can use a wordpress on my side followed by .com/fvp and it automatically captures the embed for the first available player and ignores all other page content. Very cool.

The part I am trying to get next is how to set up a Content-Security-Policy that allows iframe embedding on the native mobile app for the community software I am moving to.

    Hi Dax,

You can easily embed FV Player videos in other websites, with FV Player iframe embed. iframe embed is enabled and disabled here: Settings > FV Player > Setup tab > Sitewide FV Player Defaults.

We are considering adding a security feature which would allow the publisher to specify the domains on which FV Player iframes would be allowed to play. This would probably suit your use case.

For very serious security you’d have to introduce URL signatures on the iframe, which would be a custom setup requiring custom configuration on both the publishing WordPress website and the playback website. It’s possible but would be custom development.

    Thanks, Alec
