How to setup Digital Ocean Spaces

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › How to … › How to setup Digital Ocean Spaces

  • ihan u. 4 months, 3 weeks ago

Hi, i have Encrypted-HLS video in digital ocean space, but im failed in tests to play on fv player 8 .
because i cant find any documentation about setup hosts, I think maybe my settings are wrong!

    for example, this is true?

    space name: myspace123
    Endpoint: https://myspace123.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com

    key:
should i paste Access Key Name? myspace123-read-only-1112223334445
    or Access Key ID? DO111XX1XX1PYNFWRPA1

CDN (Content Delivery Network) must be enable ?
CORS Configurations must be enable? (and how! there is many options)

also need to generate API ?

    Hello Ihan,

Did you use FV Player Coconut on a website and then setup a new website where you want to use the same configuration?

Please check the FV Player Coconut setup steps as it shows where the access keys are obtained: https://foliovision.com/player/video-security/encoding/encrypted-hls-coconut

You don’t need to setup the CDN or CORS as these are already setup on DigitalOcean Spaces. So you do not need the API key for that.

    Thanks,
    Martin

thats need pro version of fv-player. im using free version 8.
actully even my test file link is public on digital ocean and every player can play and download, but fv-player cant play even mp4 video from space. HTTP 400: Bad Request + html5: video not found! but link is public and any browser and player can play and download.

    Hello Ihan,

It’s true that the videos are public if you are using the free FV Player and there’s no download protection.

Please use the FV Player’s Video Checker to report the video which does not play: https://foliovision.com/player/troubleshooting/how-to-use-video-checker

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Ihan,

We got your Video Checker submission.

It appears that you have included https:// in the wp-admin -> FV Player -> Settings -> Hosting -> DigitalOcean Spaces -> Endpoint field. The https:// part should not be there. It should be just fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com.

I see we should be using a standard HTML select box for these endpoints to make it easier to enter.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    hi again, thanks.
now works but just in a conditions:
when file permission is public + cors enabled (bucket settigns)

but also i’m in doubt that did i paste right keys on host settings!

Access Key Name or Access Key ID for key !
Bucket access key or api key for secret !

    Hello Ihan,

Please use the FV Player’s Video Checker once again to report the video which does not play when it’s set to be private.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Ihan,

I found you already did submit the report via Video Checker.

The video won’t play as it’s a HLS stream. It consists of multiple m3u8 and ts files and the URL signature has to be calculated for each separately.

Since DigitalOcean Space does not support URL signatures for paths, we created the Stream Loader technology which is part of FV Player Pro: https://foliovision.com/player/video-security/video-protection-methods/signed-urls-hls-protection

    Thanks,
    Martin
