Customizing Playlists

I’m looking for some other ways to implement the playlist function other than the default rectangle thumbnails under the video player. If I have a dozen video clips in a playlist that can get out of hand. I’m looking to keep a smaller footprint on the page and still giving people a way to navigate the playlist.

Is possible to just have text links without the graphics? Having a linkable url like in the example below from flowplayer.org for each video would make implementing the playlist manually extremely easy.

Or something like this were you could scroll through a dozen videos and keep the page foot print more minimal.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.
