    Hi,

    We have an expired licence which limits our Pro support and upgrades. However, the Pro plugin was working fine until WP advised me to update the free plugin today. When I did, the website broke (javascript error), so I rolled back to previous version, but this DELETED the Pro plugin.

    Please advise how I can restore the Pro plugin as it was prior to today’s changes.

    To clarify, I am not looking for Pro support, nor a new Pro download. I’m merely requesting the Pro plugin that was working perfectly and deleted during the free plugin rollback to be restored.

    Thank you for reaching out to us!

    There was a critical incompatibility between free and pro versions a while back, perhaps even a year ago by now. Please, let us know what versions of the plugins were you using.

    Do you keep up with the free plugin updates, or have you updated the plugin after a longer time?

    Hi Maria,

    I find it odd that the pro plugin was deleted without notice rather than
    simply being disabled.

    Both free and pro plugins have ‘enable auto-updates’ turned on, but
    yesterday’s rollback shows the free FV hasn’t been updated since late
    2020. Not sure why. I assume the pro requires a manual update or only
    auto-updates with a valid license key?

    I couldn’t find any logs in WP Admin that provide the version of FV
    pro we were using prior to it being deleted yesterday, but I know I
    haven’t manually updated the plugins for well over a year or more.

    Our UpdraftPlus backups provided the following info…

    fv-wordpress-flowplayer
    Readme.txt – most recent changelog
    7.4.37.727 – 2020/11/20

    fv-player-pro
    Readme.txt – most recent changelog
    7.4.33.727 – 2020/08/24

    Hello Chloe,

    when using the roll-back feature FV Player removes the FV Player Pro plugin to also install an older version of it. However since your license is no longer active it was not allowed to do so.

    Sorry about the inconvenience, it was not our intention to remove the Pro plugin. We believe that you should be able to use the plugin as you paid for it once. But of course we cannot guarantee it will keep working in future WordPress versions and on the future mobile devices. But it should be good at least for couple more years.

    Please install the FV Player Pro 7.4.33 from the attached ZIP file.

    I would suggest you still try to put up the latest FV Player as these two might work together without big issues and you would get all the security fixes that way. Just make sure you disable FV Player Pro before the upgrade and active it afterwards as that old FV Player Pro could have an issue like that.
