Chromecast option does not work

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Bug Reports › Chromecast option does not work

  • Alfonso L. 4 years, 1 month ago

Hello, last March 8th I bought your plugin “FV Player Pro – 1 domain”, I bought it mainly because they assured me that it could be used to send the videos from the website to chromecast.

Please could you check the screenshot that I have attached to you with the current configuration of the “FV Player Pro” plugin. In this case I am using an .mp4 video, but I have also tried with YouTube and Vim eo videos, and I can’t get the button to send to chromecast to appear.

Please review it, or tell me what I have to do, I have reviewed your documentation but I cannot find the solution.

    Hello Alfonso,

thank you for reaching out to us!

Everything having any effect on Chromecast in your FV Player Pro settings seems to be set up correctly.

Are you also having issues casting videos directly from YouTube or is it just the videos embedded via FV Player?

    Thanks,
    Maria

    Hello Alfonso,

please also test the Chromecast with the homepage video on https://foliovision.com/ and let us know where we can test it on your website.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Hello, the website is in production and is not open to the public (I am using the Maintenance plugin).

I have inscribed the video with a shortcode, it is a .MP4 video, I attach the screenshots of the video configuration.

Hello, I clicked the settings button “control template”, and I get this message: It appears there are no Flowplayer scripts on your site, your videos might not be playing, please check. Check your template’s header.php file if it contains wp_head () function call and footer.php should contain wp_footer ()!

We also recommend you to open any of your videos on your site and see if you get a red warning message about JavaScript not working.

    jQuery library found: https://bubber.es/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp!

    Hello Alfonso,

please provide a test page where we can see the issue, or at least send us a link to the video file which you are using.

You can also test the Chromecast with the homepage video on https://foliovision.com/ – that would also be helpful.

The Check Template function does tell you to also check if the actual videos play. If the videos play then you can ignore that warning. When FV Player first started many templates used to have issue with missing wp_footer() calls. Your website might not be passing the check because of the maintenance mode.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Hello, I still have the same problem with, with your “FV Player Pro” plugin, I can’t show the icon to send the video to Chromecast, here below I leave two urls to two example videos, one is from youtube, and the another a .mp4 uploaded to wordpress. Please I need you to review it to tell me what the error may be: the template, the configuration, etc.

(The website is no longer in maintenance is accessible)

I attach a screenshot of the plugin configuration if it works for you.

    Hello Alfonso,

I tested out the attached videos and both were casting without any issues. Both in desktop and mobile browser.

Please, ensure that you are connected to the same Wi-Fi as your chromecast device. Also don’t forget to use the Google Chrome browser.

    Thanks,
    Maria

Hi Maria, I tried it last night in Google Chrome and with the Chromecast device connected, I will try again later by restarting the PC and the Mobile.

Thank you so much for everything!!!
