DRM Text is a feature currently available for the users of FV Player Pro. It's main purpose is to protect your video content from screen capturing by watermarking it with a barely visible overlay box, that will randomly appear in of the corners of the video player. The DRM Text box will contain the IP address of the viewer, his username (if he's logged in), the actual date and time, and the site's name.
The DRM Text appears only for a fraction of a second in regular intervals (every 3-4 seconds), so it's really hard to spot with the naked eye, but it will be recorded by a screen capturing software and therefore imprinted into the output, where it can be easily found when it's checked frame-by-frame. Although this feature will not protect your video from being stolen, it will help you to prove that you are the original owner of the content.
Activating DRM Text for All Videos
To activate the feature, go to Settings > FV Player Pro > Setup tab > DRM Text and check the box Global Enable.
Setting the Interval of Appearance
In the DRM Text settings described above you can also select the interval in which the text will appear. You can do so by selecting the interval from a drop-down menu labeled Interval. There are currently two available options:
- 5 seconds
- 20 seconds
Activating DRM Text for Individual Videos
If you want to set it individually for each video, go to Settings > FV Player Pro > Post Interface Options and check the box DRM Text. The option will then appear in the shortcode editor in the Options tab.
How DRM Text Looks
As said earlier, DRM Text is hard to spot, so here is a screenshot:
