Installation is very simple and straightforward – same as for every good WordPress plugin. If you are not sure how to do it, John Godley wrote a really nice article about it – How to install a WordPress plugin.

Testing
To make sure our plugin works for you, follow these steps:
- If you use any cache plugin as W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache, clear its cache first
- Open you site in a new browser where you are not logged into your WordPress
- Post a comment on one of the posts on the site. It should appear on the site or in unapproved comments and a notification should be sent to you, based on your WordPress Discussion settings.
If the comment goes to spam instead of unapproved or approved comments, then there is some CSS or HTML conflict with your template or a plugin conflict. Let us know what template you use!
- Check out wp-admin -> Comments -> Trash. It should contain spam comments catched by FV Antispam.
Filled In protection
Run all your tests as a non-logged in user!
If you are using the ‘Filled In‘ plugin (“Generic form processor allowing forms to be painlessly processed …“) on your WP site, you should definitely check the option ‘Protect Filled in forms’ in the ‘Settings -> FV Antispam’ window. This option will add java-script protection on all of the forms that are checked by the Filled In plugin on your website.
Any spam submission will be stored in the failed submissions and the users gets the message from the “Enter spam message” field. This is useful if user’s IP is in Akismet database of spam IPs.
