    Dear Support,
we are using FV Player >Pro with vimeo embedded Player. But the Player is not scaling to full with in available space in widget integrated via short code.
Our goal would be that video player always scale to full width available and automatically adjust height to keep video ration.
In screenshot attached you can see the problem when integrating Playlist. The Playlist preview is on left edge of widget but Vimeo video smaller and not using full width availble. How can we solve this problem to scale video to full width?

    Hello Ulf,

I’m noticing that the page does not really use FV Player but just the Vimeo iframe embed code.

Please follow the steps here to embed the Vimeo video using full-featured FV Player: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/how-to-use-vimeo

If that does not fix the issue then check wp-admin -> FV Player -> Settings -> Sitewide FV Player Defaults -> Default Video Size.

Will it size properly if you enter Width 100% and leave the Height blank?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Dear Martin,
thanks for the fast reply. I do not understand why FV Player Skin not used instead of embedded vimeo. Do I have ti run “Convert embedded codes” in Hosting settings?
All API and video settings are done according to guideline. So I think the following steps needed:

    1. Add code to php confic
To use this feature you have to put the following into your wp-config.php file:
      define(‘FV_PLAYER_VIMEO_KEY’,’33f1090ae5dcd65c8af9686f438d972c’); Missing!

    2. Database backup

    3. Run converting embeeded codes

Can you confirm? Thanks for your advise.

    Hello Ulf,

Please start by just using wp-admin -> FV Player -> Settings -> Integrations/Compatibility -> “Handle WordPress audio/video” and “Parse Vimeo and YouTube links”.

Will that cause FV Player to load for your post?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Dear Martin,
no: Handle WordPress audio/video is converting all vimeo videos in website into shortcodes without showing FV Player. See screenshopt attached. I try to figure our if my developer has done anything wrong as we integrated some custom code into the widget. He wrote me the following:

I have already checked on this. When the videos are added to the fv plugin, we can make the embedded codes for the videos. and with this, we can use a simple video tag instead of an iframe.

When I clicked on embedded codes, the embedded codes were created according to the plugins, but the issue was that the embedded codes weren’t stored in the database or files. So I decided to go with the iframes.

As you have provided me with the custom design, to make the required design changes, I need to make the flow more custom rather than using the plugin flow.

The plugin doesn’t allow us to overwrite many files, and we can’t make changes to the plugin files because, in the future, if the plugin gets an update, all our changes will be removed automatically.

So I am totally confused and have to check with my developer.
    Best Ulf

    Hello Ulf,

It seems your theme display code does not support shortcodes for your video field. It should be simple to add the do_shortcode() call to it.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Thanks.
My developer is checking right now and he will be back to you here directly with more questions.

Note: Activating both options -> FV Player -> Settings -> Integrations/Compatibility -> “Handle WordPress audio/video” and “Parse Vimeo and YouTube links” does still showing vimeo embedded player in FV Player widget.

I think it this is the main problem as descripted before:

“When I clicked on embedded codes, the embedded codes were created according to the plugins, but the issue was that the embedded codes weren’t stored in the database or files”

We will be back to you shortly after checking again everything on our side.

I understand the situation. But we have done some custom code, and to get video, we are using the iframe because, after creating the embedded code, I wasn’t able to find those. Can you please let me know where to find those so that I can use the video tag instead of the iframe. Because in the video tag, we need to pass the URL with embedded codes.

    just this much for now.

    Dear Martin,

The thing is we have used custom code as per our requirement. We have just used the iframe to show the video. Can you please let me know how we can use the default video player provided by the fv player? Is there some function that the FV player provides?

    Hello Ulf,

What’s actually stored in your posts? Is it the Vimeo iframe embed code?

If so, then as long as you enable “Handle WordPress audio/video” you can just apply the_content filter on your Vimeo iframes in your template code in PHP:

    echo apply_filters( 'the_content', $your_vimeo_iframe_code_here );

    Thanks,
    Martin
