Vimeo Autoplay issues

[Solved]

    Hello,

I installed FV Flowplayer to accomplish the following: Embed videos into my WP posts that – autoplayed and looped on mute, and were functional on mobile. Flowplayer was accomplishing this perfectly until I upgraded to Pro (So that I could host my videos on Vimeo to save space in my media library). Since upgrading I have encountered 3 issues.

    1) When I insert a video, the sitewide player defaults, and player skin defaults no longer apply. Specifically, I have autoplay checked in the defaults, and default volume set to 0 in player skin defaults. I now have to manually turn autoplay “on” when I insert each video. However, even when I do this…

Videos autoplay with full sound for a moment, then reload and autoplay on mute. This happens to all videos, regardless of whether they were inserted via vimeo or from the media library, when autoplay=“true” is inserted manually into the shortcode.

2)On mobile, audio stops working if you pause and then resume the video

    Hi Mike,

sorry about the inconvenience. I’m just leaving for the weekend and Monday is a holiday here, so I’m having a quick look:

    1) Global autoplay not working for Vimeo – this is caused by the way Vimeo works (media files with download protection). We will get this fixed.

It works for me in Firefox, but not in Safari 7.1 of Mac OS X 10.9.1.

Mute issue with autoplay videos from Vimeo – same as above, we just haven’t thought of this combination yet. We will make sure it works.

It also works for me in Firefox, but not in Safari 7.1 of Mac OS X 10.9.1.

    2) Please let us know what mobile device you are using.

    Thanks,
    Martin
