Video freezes when starts to play

    I am using the shortcode [fvplayer src="xxxx.mp4"]. Our videos are stored in Digital Ocean and I am copying the CDN link from there. They used to play without a problem and just recently they no longer play. Upon clicking the play button, the first screen comes up and then the video freezes.
    I do not need encryption for my videos as we allow our members to download them.
    I disabled all of the plugins except for FV Player and FV Player Pro and the issue persisted.
    I checked the “Load FV Flowplayer JS everywhere” setting as well, and this did not help either.
    What can I do to enable video playback again? Thank you.

    Hello Jillian,

    How are you obtaining the CDN link for the videos? Does is come with the query arguments in the link? If so, the URL will expire.

    Did you configure DigitalOcean Spaces in wp-admin -> FV Player -> Settings -> Hosting?

    Please setup a publicly accessible test page where we can see the issue.

    Thank you for getting back to me.
    I am copying the link directly from “Spaces” in Digital Ocean. It does not include any query arguments.
    Digital Ocean Spaces was configured under the FV Player Hosting Settings.
    Here is a test page where you can see the video: (redacted)

    I checked the option you suggested. I do not see any message on the video.
    Can you please clarify where/how I would “add an exception to my CORS headers config”
    (Can you please remove the link itself from the public forum?)

    I added the exception to my CORS headers config based on my hosting provider’s instructions. However, I still cannot see any message on the video.
    I added the video to the test page in a few other formats, but they are all behaving the same way.

    Hello Jillian,

    Thank you for the test page link.

    The problem is that the files on your DigitalOcean Spaces are not set to be private. You need to either set them to be private or remove the DigitalOcean Spaces configuration from wp-admin -> FV Player -> Settings -> Hosting.

    But I’ll check if we can fix this so that a configuration like this won’t fail to play the video.

    I’m not sure why you saw no Video Checker on your videos though. The note about CORS in our guide only applies if the Video Checker shows an error about not being able to access the video.

    Thank you very much for your reply. I removed the Digital Ocean Spaces configuration completely and the videos now play.
