Video File Not Found Error using S3

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › Video File Not Found Error using S3

  • Miles .. 5 months, 3 weeks ago

While in development, my site was running just fine. I loaded it to the primary server, and again, running fine. Videos were playing and even now in development, all videos are playing. In staging, running fine. Even on the live site, until about an hour ago, all videos were playing. Now all of a sudden, no plugins have been added, it’s refusing to serve out ANY video file off of S3.

No matter what URL I use, even though the permissions are set fine on S3, again, same as in development, FV Pro is not finding the video files.

I thought perhaps, ok, I need to update. I did. Same problem.

I thought, odd but perhaps it’s a plugin conflict. Again, no plugins added between dev and deployment. So I did the removed all plugins except exactly the bare minimum. Same problem.

What’s going on ? Why are my video files no longer playing ?

Now the videos are showing a javascript warning, they weren’t before. As well as according to the ADMIN checker in the upper left corner, the videos appear ok. I’ve checked the pack, and video checker they come up just fine. No issues.

    What’s going on here ????

Checking your docs, I see that YOUR JAVASCRIPT is throwing an error.

Kill this ticket please. I found the problem. It was a config issue with Cloudfront. It wasn’t set up properly, and they recently changed and reinforced their policies. So I had to reconfigure a bit. You guys are fine.

    Hello Miles,

Thank you for letting us know about the Cloudfront issue.

However you should not be getting that “Admin JavaScript warning” message if there’s not some serious issue with FV Player’s script loading. Are you still running into that issue?

Do you still get that Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘mute’) error on console now that your videos are playing?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Actually I see – you are using FV Player Pro 8 with FV Player 7.

Please upgrade FV Player Pro, the version 8.0.9 which was released now will give you a warning message about using old FV Player version 7 and a button to upgrade to FV Player 8.

We will also automate this when activating FV Player Pro 8.

This will avoid the “Admin JavaScript warning” which would appear for couple of seconds and avoid the JavaScript error.

    Thanks,
    Martin
