Problem with hlsjs and parameter on m3u8 stream

Hello,

I hope you can help me with the following Problem:

Our client uses the fv player’s hlsjs support to play livestreams on his website and normally, that works fine. But as soon as there is a parameter added to the .m3u8 file url, the player stops working on Chrome and Firefox (Windows and Mac) and shows the this error message “hlsjs:
unsupported video format. install adobe flash”.

The video shortcode looks like this:
[fvplayer src="https://live.rcminfobreak.at/vod/myStream/myStream.mp4/playlist.m3u8?wowzaplaystart=250000" live="true"]

As soon as the ?wowzaplaystart=250000 parameter is removed, everything works again. Is there a way to get this to work?

Our client uses fv player v 6.6.6 and fv player pro v 6.6.7

Hello Gerald,

I was not able to reproduce the issue with latest FV Player. What is your client’s reason to use FV Player 6? Please let us know.

Hello Martin,

strange, but thank you for the check. So I guess you can’t suggest any solution to us?

There are over 200 videos on our clients website which use FV Player and we haven’t tested yet what happens if we update.

I’ve tested the shortcode that you’ve sent and it work fine even with the parameter.

I’ll discuss it with Martin but I hope that you understand it is impractical for us to work on a fix for older versions of our player. That’s the reason why we offer the license renewal. If you want to enjoy all the new features and want us to fix any issues for free you need to have your player updated.
