“Mobile browser detected, serving low bandwidth video.” multiple errors

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › “Mobile browser detected, serving low bandwidth video.” multiple errors

  • talbotp 5 years ago

    Hey,

We’re having some issues with our website when serving videos on Mobile. When the video loads in, the same message is repeated and displayed under the video which say:

“Mobile browser detected, serving low bandwidth video. Click here for full quality”.

Here is a pic of the bug on imgur https://imgur.com/a/RQrQLb4

We would like this to display one time or not at all. Any advice on how to get that to work?

Thanks so much for the help :)

    Hi talbotp,

Thank you for reporting the issue.

Could you please send us over the contents of Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Tools -> System Info, and a link to a video where the issue occurs?

I’ll forward it to our development team to take a closer look.

    Thanks,
    Chiara

    Hi Chiara,

The bug can be seen on mobile at https://admintoarchitect.com, there is an FV player video on that page and the issue should show there.

Thanks so much for the help, here is the System Info :)

    Hello talbotp,

it appears that if you have a MP4 video configured with FV Player Pro quality switching and you fill in the mobile video field at the same time it shows the notice about mobile video multiple times. We will fix that.

Then perhaps we could adjust the FV Player Pro quality switching to pick that mobile video for mobile devices. That mobile fields was intended as a simple way of serving a different video to mobile users for websites without FV Player Pro. So the minimum we should be doing here is to hide that Mobile video field in the moment when you enable the quality switching to make sure the interface is not confusing.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

That’s great thanks, so this will be released in a future update?

For the time being, is there a good way to suppress this message, maybe with some css?

Really appreciate all your help :)

We’re suppressing the messages with this css until there is a fix. :)

    .fv-flowplayer-mobile-switch { display: none; }
