I have had a video on my home page at https://theAPprofessor.org for a while, and now there are huge “pause icons” one each of four different styles the size of the video player itself. The first is over the video player, and the others trail below that over the other content of my page.
I’ve tried removing the video from the page, then inserting it again. I’ve checked all the settings and they seem okay (I didn’t change any settings before this behavior started appearing). I’ve rolled back to version 666, then back again to the latest version. Burning sage has not helped either. (Happens in different browsers–both desktop and mobile). Your advice?

FYI, the icons do not appear when I’m logged in as admin. They only appear when I’m not logged and acting as just a random user stumbling upon my webpage for the first time. Weird.
Hello Kevin,
if the issue doesn’t appear when you log in, then it might be some sort of caching. Perhaps you are minifying your CSS and you haven’t cleared that cache since upgrading FV Player.

I had this same issue all week. Clearing cache in site and in browser fixed it. Many people message me about this issue, I’ll have to let them know to clear their cache as well. Thanks Kevin for bringing this up and Martin for the simple tip.

The “Check template” button can be found at the of the Settings -> FV Player screen. It has been improved to detect this kind of error.

MartinHey Martin, I clicked check template and got “It appears there are no Flowplayer scripts on your site, your videos might not be playing, please check. Check your template’s header.php file if it contains wp_head() function call and footer.php should contain wp_footer()!”
My videos are playing everywhere fine except for Safari on iPhones.(checked multiple devices)
How to fix? Re download?

as long as the videos play, you don’t have to worry about it. Some websites just tend to work that way (with our “It appears there are no Flowplayer scripts on your site, your videos might not be playing, please check” warning) and we didn’t had a chance to find out what causes it yet.
I checked your website briefly and you are indeed stripping the query string versions, which is why you encountered that strange styling issue with big play button.
