Several of my students have reported seeing this error “html5: Video file not found” for an embedded video at the top of my homepage when navigating to my website, tentononline.com. This video is hosted with Amazon S3.
I can re-create the error in a private browser window, but oddly if the browser refreshes, the embedded video loads and plays fine — so the error only occurs when a visitor initially lands on my site.
Can you please help?

So, the issue is connected to the cache right? Please try to recreate the issue and check your browser’s console for any JScript errors. That should tell us more about the issue.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I do suspect it’s related to cache, because as soon as the browser is refreshed, the video loads fine. This only occurs with embedded videos.
And sorry, I should have provided a link. The embedded video giving the error is found at the top of this page https://www.tentononline.com/ and this page https://www.tentononline.com/blog/
I know I have JS errors…but I’m not very skilled in this area so I’m not sure how to troubleshoot.

Thanks for providing us those links. As I can see you’re using signed URLs for your S3 video. Please check following setting:
Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Hosting -> Amazon S3 Protected Content and check if you have the Amazon S3 Ajax option turned on. If no, please turn it on.

“Amazon S3 Ajax” was not turned on, so I turned it on, saved changes and then cleared the site cache for good measure.
Is there anything else I need to do?

I’ve been checking your video regularly and it looks like it’s playing just fine. I can see there’s an issue with thumbnail image, to resolve that, please set up CORS headers on your S3.
