FV Pro Plugin changing folder postfix after update

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › FV Pro Plugin changing folder postfix after update

  • Jan T. 9 years, 10 months ago

    Hi guys,

whenever I update the FV Player Pro Plugin via the WordPress Admin backend it keeps creating a new folder with a new suffix. The old pro plugin stays in the list with the old version and the old suffix.

    The folders are named like:
    fv-player-pro-AvrRK0
    fv-player-pro-MmrRD0

That leads to deactivating the pro plugin and missing resources on the sites where I embedded the player.
    Quite nasty…

Any idea what’s going wrong here?

    Thanks,
    Jan

    Hello Jan,

thank you for the bug report. I noticed the directory folder changes on some sites bit we never had issue with the plugin deactivating.

I’ll test this now to see if I can reproduce the issue.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

as WordPress keeps track of activated Plugins via the folder name, the plugin naturally gets “deactivated” because the new folder is a new plugin for WordPress. Which isn’t activated of course.
Just be clear with this one.

    Best Regards,
    Jan

    Hello Jan,

you are right, however in the cases I have seen it always re-activated the plugin in its new folder name.

I’m checking why the folder changes name in the first place.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Jan,

this has been fixed, please let us know if you are still noticing issues.

I think WordPress changed the way the ZIP files work some time ago, the folder name needs to be included in it now.

    Thanks,
    Martin
