Hi,
i’ve used JW Player 6 till now, but will migrate my website to FV Player.
Is it possible to ‘group’ some videos to use the same VAST tag? At the moment is use different JW Players to show context related ads for the videos. In the docs i’ve seen that i can specify different VAST tag for each video which will work, but requires lots of manual if i e.g. change from AdButler to Google.

Hi Florian,
FV Player VAST currently doesn’t offer such setting that would allow you to tag videos based o their content, but even if it had, you would have to set the content tags manually, so you would still probably have to edit all the video shortcodes.
The settings that are available right now are either setting a global ad tag for all videos on your website or set the tag manually for a certain video (or a playlist). If you have just two different content types (for instance SFW / NSFW content), you could set the global tag and then apply the individual VAST parameter just for the videos you want to have the other tag.
If you have more types of content, then we could work out some kind of custom solution for you, if you would like to pay for it.

Hello Florian,
we were thinking of adding presets. Currently FV Player has a single global configuration (skin, various special buttons and so on). So you could create multiple presets of such configuration and also specify different VAST ad for each. However it’s not currently a priority.
If you are a PHP programmer you can also use the WordPress filters to set the individual player VAST ad URL based on (for example) post category, FV Player has a “fv_flowplayer_args_pre” filter available: https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/api-programming
