Coconut API version and region

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Requests and Feedback › Coconut API version and region

  • Sebastiaan M. 3 years, 6 months ago

    I have been using the FP-coconut plugin succesfully for about a year now, like it very much. Now I wanted to change to the new API version (v2), as I got a notification that the V1 is going to be shutdown soon.

    I created a new profile to test this out. The new api key I added to the FV-coconut settings and tried a new job. Unfortunately I got an error saying:
    [message] => You must use the Coconut API v2
    [error_code] => api_version_not_valid

    Well, I want version 2, but why does it give me this error. Does anyone have an idea? In the coconut.io, the used api key is configured for API version 2021-002.

    Besides wanting to change to V2, I also tried moving to the EU region. Unfortunately, when I try this, it gives me an error:
    [message] => Authentication failed, check your API key
    [error_code] => authentication_failed

    Both for the main profile as wel as for a sub-profile. Is it possible to configure the region somewhere or override the COCONUT_URL variable?
    Default looks like https://api.coconut.io, but the option https://api-eu-west-1.coconut.io would be better suited for me.

    Thanks!

    In addition to my first question, I have also found the topic https://foliovision.com/support/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/bug-reports/coconut-jobs-error-api_version_not_valid , where a new version of Coconut is meantioned.

    When I checked the version I have installed it is 7.4.27.727 as well.
    In my-licenses the latest FV-Coconut version I can download is this version as well. Maybe I’m missing an update here?

    Hello Sebastiaan,

    I’m sorry about the inconvenience. Our new version release has delayed as we never got around to test the transition from old Coconut API to the new one.

    Please reinstall FV Player Coconut from a fresh ZIP file which you obtain from https://foliovision.com/my-licenses

    To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player Coconut plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.

    Please let us know if that fixed the issue.

    We could be adding the Coconut region selection as well.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Martin,

    Thanks for your help, I looked at the wrong place for the version I think. I downloaded the plugin and installed it fresh and it did indeed solve the problem! It now works correctly with the new API.

    I also quickly tested it with the EU endpoint, this also works if I change the ENDPOINT contstant in vendor/opencoconut/coconut/src/Client.php temporarily. It would be great of course if this could be configurable in the settings.

    Best Regards,
    Sebastiaan

    Hello Sebastiaan,

    we are about to finish some code refactoring to allow video uploads directly on the WordPress website with both Coconut and Bunny Stream. Once that is done, we will look into supporting these different Coconut API regions.

    Thanks,
    Martin
