12 hours DVR?

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Requests and Feedback › 12 hours DVR?

We would need to set up a stream player that gives the users the possibility to scrub back up to 12 hours on the timeline.
The stream plays nicely, only the scrub bar does not show 12 hours (shows one minute or so).
On an hls.js player this shows as it should, but not on fv player.
The streams come from a Wowza DVR server.
If it will cost something, let us know.
We set up a test page here: https://merucourses.com/testmch/
(look at the third and fourth video window)
    Thank you for your help!

    Hello Girish,

I found that because the stream URL ends with ?DVR it’s not properly handed by FV Player Editor and then you do not get the Live and DVR checkboxes.

Please try to post it like this:

    [fvplayer src="..." live="true" dvr="true"]

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Martin,
thank you for your answer! We are able to play the stream.
    My question was:
What do we have to do to offer a 12 hours timeline in fvplayer as in our old player that we need to replace, see here maharishichannel.in ?
Can we do it ourselves or does it need programming from your side?

    Hello Girish,

on that old player page the m3u8 file had 10278 segments in it, each 4 seconds long. The DVR time window duration depends on that.

The last video on your new page uses a different HLS video stream, it only has 5 segments. It seems to not use the DVR, but it’s specified on the stream level.

We might need to adjust the timeline for the DVR streams. I think it should show 0:00 or “Live” on the right hand side and then you should be allowed to seek up to -12 hours back in time. It would be a more clear representation of what’s going on that a timeline from 00:00:00 to 12:00:00. This might be a job for our FV Player Live Streaming plugin.

    Thanks,
    Martin
