    Hello;

    I am setting up S3 CloudFront. Just upgraded to pro with you guys as well, hope it was a good decision.

    I was wondering if you could answer these 2 questions:

    1 – What is the best video format for cloud front? I can’t afford to have delays.

    For example format H264 ? What about format?

    Here are some of my options.

    2 – I can’t host videos on my own server. How can I get could front to work with mobile devices as well?

    Thanks

    Hi Seyed!

    1. It is more question of proper format and encoding so you can reach further audience and faster. So if you want to cover almost everyone you might want to serve .mp4 as a minimum. .webm will cover Firefox and Opera users. With CloudFront for best speed loading you should chooses default option for your videos to be served from the closest location to the end user.

    2. There is no problem to serve your videos to mobiles though CloudFront. Just make sure you have again correct encoding. For example some older android phones handle only 480×320 px or older iPhones have resolution limit of 640×480 px.

    If you are interested in more details about encoding, please see our documentation:
